New Product announcement: Westminster Shorter Catechism cards!

This week’s post is going to be all about our new product, the Westminster Shorter Catechism (WSC) cards. I have always loved the concept of the WSC. But I had never really thought about any of the questions beyond the first one (Question 1: What is the chief end of man?). However, with all that has been going on in our culture, I have been feeling the need to teach our children more about the basic principles of our faith. Without the basic foundational principles of our faith that are based on doctrine (which is based on Scripture), our children stand no chance against this culture. Zero. It’s hard enough for grown adults to stand against the tsunami of Secular ideology that is being thrust into our faces. Can you imagine what it’s like to stand as a teen or young adult? Even staying quiet and not saying anything takes courage. As you all well know, it can be overwhelming and disheartening.

But there’s something we can all do, and that is to teach our children foundational Truth. When we focus on Truth found in Scripture, lies will be much easier to recognize and refute. And so I revisited the WSC and I realized this would be a great bible study! The WSC focuses on 107 questions with biblical responses, including specific “book, chapter, and verse” references.

As I was looking into various studies that could be done based on WSC, I found card decks that had one of each of the questions on a card. But I didn’t find any cards that were essentially study cards with the question on one side and the answer on the other. My husband and I really want our children to know and understand basic doctrine. What better way to do that than with study cards? The cards will definitely make it easier for our children to memorize the information. If you’re not familiar with the WSC, you can click on this link for all of them. However, here are a couple of relevant questions: Question 14 – What is sin?; as well as Question #87 – What is repentance unto life?

Finally, I know that around here, a deck of cards has a shelf-stable lifetime of about 2 weeks. After that, don’t count on ever playing with a full deck of cards again. It’s so frustrating! Am I the only one? So having the cards on a ring helps to keep everything together, while also allowing each question to be pulled out if needed.

And remember – helpful emails will be sent out to you (if you so desire) that can help give you some extra resources for the study. There are songs, crafts, and sermons that are referenced and are very helpful!

Check it out! The WSC cards are an excellent and unique way to have a family bible study that will point your kids to Truth. Not only will your children benefit, but you will too!

Remember, there’s a sale on these cards until the end of the week! Regularly $25, but right now, only $20!
