Seems as if in most cases, neutrality is seen as a badge of honor. Somewhere in the middle is where the moral high ground is. It proves that we are compassionate, and not a crazy extremist. We can see the good from both sides of the aisle, and magnanimously assert that we choose to be somewhere in the middle.
The Third Way
I’ve thought a lot about this, and I am aware that there are definitely times where being in the middle is exactly where we need to be. Asserting that we can see the arguments of either side, and completely understand why someone would think either one way or the other, has its place to be sure. But I’m arguing that with respect to the election coming up tomorrow (by the time this gets posted), there is no middle or third way. And if you think you’re choosing the middle, by say not voting, I guarantee you, you’re not. In this situation, there is no middle or third way.
This Election Day we get to choose between two parties that are imperfect. However, one is blatantly attacking what is good, beautiful, and true in the forms of family, children, and country. And the other is attempting to protect what is good, beautiful, and true in the forms of family, children, and country. As I’ve said, neither are perfect or ideal. But to intimate there is somehow moral equivalency between the two is 100% asinine. As Believers, we do not have the freedom to choose either party, especially when we study the two platforms.
Democrat agenda
The Democrat party is pushing an agenda that, to put it bluntly, is demonic. Baby murder through birth. No exceptions. If a doctor doesn’t want to perform an abortion, in their mind, too bad. It’s a woman’s fundamental right to murder her baby.
Chopping off parts of children’s bodies and sterilizing them is also on their agenda. And they have the audacity to say they’re the party of compassion. It’s mind blowing.
Allowing men into women’s spaces is also a priority on the Democrat platform. Since there is currently no difference between a man and a woman, apparently, it doesn’t matter. You need a Biology degree to define a woman anyway. Yet even if you have a Biology degree, the definition is nebulous. Therefore if you think you’re a woman, you are one. No questions asked. Or vice versa, if you think you’re a man, you are one. Or a dog or a cat or whatever. I mean, who are we to judge? And if you do judge, you’re a bigot.
Bigot, trash, whatever
Well, I guess I’m a bigot. And apparently, I’m trash too. But you know what? That’s OK. As Charles Spurgeon so eloquently put it:
If any man thinks ill of you, do not be angry with him, for you are worse than he thinks you to be.
I will stand with the party that knows who men and women are, and keep them in the appropriate sports. I’ll stand with those who want to keep our country safe. Is the party platform protecting all babies from being murdered in the womb? No. However, the Republicans are at least moving in the right direction, and will minimally listen to the pro-life side of the argument. What do you think the chances are of the Democrats listening to any pro-life arguments?
Voting for the felon
So yes, I’m voting for the felon. I’m voting for some semblance of sanity. I think the majority of those voting for Trump realize he does not have the capacity to be this nation’s savior. Praise God, we already have One. However, I know the LORD is protecting that man for a reason. With all his faults and foibles, I am thankful for Donald Trump. He is taking the heat and ire from those who would gladly send it our way. Trump just had the boldness to stand in the way (which is more than I can say for most pastors).
To get more information on how to further understand and approach the cultural moment we’re in, we have many books to choose from! There are so many awesome books that speak to the topics I’ve touched on above (and more). Whether that’s protecting women and babies with truth or understanding the gender madness prevalent in our society, the books are there.
Vote
But right at this moment, we need to choose a president for our country. As Believers, the choice could not be more clear cut and obvious. The time is beyond pressing. I pray that as many people as possible go out there and vote in a way that reflects our values as Bible believing Christians. Not voting is not an option. By not voting and thinking we are taking that middle way, we will usher in more of the madness that will be aimed at people with our convictions and values. And will also hurt those who need our protection.
God can work in any situation. No matter what happens on Tuesday (or Wednesday or whenever we get the official results), God sits on His throne. We can have peace no matter what the results are. But I hope and pray He gives us mercy and allows us to delay the decay of our day by voting Trump into office.
